This year, Bubble.io, a no-code builder for web applications, reached the milestone of 1 million users. That means 1 million non-technical creators are empowered to bring their ideas to life by creating apps without the fear of coding.
Technically, it is a SaaS for making web applications using visual programming.
In today’s issue, we explore one specific content marketing strategy used by Bubble that shows how content truly enables your existing customers and attracts new ones to reach a 1 million userbase.
Everyone wants to build the next Instagram, Slack, LinkedIn, etc - without code
For context, Bubble basically enables you to build any web application across themes like SaaS, marketplaces, social networks, etc.
As a Bubble builder myself, here’s how my google or YouTube searches are when I get stuck - I just type ‘how to build ABC feature like XYZ using Bubble’.
This was one of the ways I learned how to build features - by finding a similar feature in a popular app and hoping someone made a tutorial on it. I constantly referred back to content creators and tutorial writers who had the answer to my queries.
Such step-by-step tutorials of popular products make it very easy for existing users and newbie bubble makers to get started with their web applications.
Bubble probably sniffed this trend and created a series of ‘How-To Tutorials’ as blog posts to provide a one-stop solution to Bubble clone tutorials.
Applying the content marketing fundamentals lens
This example is a combination of product marketing and SEO-based content creation. Here’s how it helps its ecosystem:

Showcases various use cases for website visitors for making web applications using the tool.
Rides on the existing SEO trend of such ‘how to close xyz’ tutorials.
